I am learning to add on from 10. Here I am playing my maths activity where I am adding on numbers from 10.

"I know that whatever I add on from 10 is that number plus 10. 10 + 8 = 18 and 3 +10 = 13. You just add on 10. said Jai

Reading

I am learning about compound words. They are two words put together to make a new word. Here I am playing my activity of matching the compound words.

"I can match the compound words together. I can play a game and I go "I have strawberry who has teapot". Those are compounds because it is two words that are put together to make a new word. Like straw is one word and berry is another but together it is strawberry and it is a new word and a new meaning to the word too" said Jai.

Writing

I can publish my story writing and illustrate my work. In our big book we learnt about the life cycle of a chicken. Here is my chicken.

 "I made a chicken that shows the life cycle of a chicken" said Jai.

Showcase

We are learning to grow our own plants. We know it needs sun and water to grow. Take a look at what 4 weeks of growing looks like! 

Reading

I am learning to understand when to change my voice and expression when reading speech marks.

“Speech marks means someone is talking so you have to talk but change your voice by going higher a bit” said Jai.

Maths

I am learning to instantly recognise sets up to 10.

“I know 5 + 5 = 10 because I can see it with the beads” said Jai.

Writing

I am learning to write two sentences with my picture plan connecting to my story.

“Today I wrote 2 sentences and it makes me concentrate and do my own work” said Jai.
